Accessive Heat

So I am sure you all know that the Northwest region has had accessive heat this past week so we have been living in 90 weather in the house with no AC downstairs, which will arrive on tuesday I hope.So we have been taking the morning to do Different things. Monday of Cource was Jared's Eye Surgery, then we went grocery shopping. Tuesday was Speech and then on to target. Wednesday morning we went to IKEA looking for dressers for Jared and I, since the 40 dollar ones we bought 8 years ago are falling apart. And we stayed home on thursday. Everyafternoon we fill the pool up with water and play outside to keep out of the hot house. Here are a few pictures I took of the kids playing. Eigth Years!!!

It has been eight years since Jared and I got married. Alot has changed. We have three kids Kit, Ethan and Collin, he's Joined the Army, we have lived in augusta, West Valley, my Parents basement and now we live on base in Fort lewis. Right Now Jared is Having Eye Surger done so he won't have to wear glasses again. Since we got married I finished my degree and now I stay home with my kids while he serves our country. I am so blessed with everything that I have. I am looking forward to another Eigth years and more.

No Longer a baby

As You know I have a little boy, he is 22 months old and is no longer sleeping in the crib or with a pacifier. Just this last week Collin tired to sleep in Ethan's bed so Jared set up the toddler bed and he has been sleeping in in ever since. The first night he still got his pacifier but then the next night we didn't give it to him and he went right to sleep. he still enjoys getting out of bed by himself. He also gets out of bed really early like around 6 am so then he lays with me until it's really time to get up around 7 am. But other than that he loves his new found freedom and big boy bed. I tried to find picture of the toddler bed but couldn't find it. it is the same one Ethan used when we were living at my parents house.

Our Visitors

On Tuesday we went to the Airport to pick up Grandmommie and Grandpa. they stayed for three days and then had to fly back to Arizona. on Thursday we took a bunch of pictures of everyone. here are just a few of what we took. Kit was being a stinker so we didn't get one of just the Girls or her with the grandparents.(I will apologize for the the layout of the pictures not sure how to work the picture part.)

Our Opps boy

We have a small board book that is called Blue Hat Green Hat. It is about a turkey that puts his clothes on wrong and then at the end he gets it right but then jumps into a swimming pool. Collin really loves this book and so one day he put his pants on wrong and was our Oops!! boy.

One of My Hobbies

One of my favorite things to do when I just sit on the couch and watch TV with the kids is to Cross stitch. Sometimes it can be very relaxing and other times not so. Well just before Kit was born over five years ago I told my Mother in law that I would do a cross stitch of a hummel figurine and I just finished it and sent it home with her this week. Here is how it turned out.

I also did one that my Aunt gave me back when her son was born over 16 years ago. It is of Teddy Bears with the alphabet, numbers and colors.

I have done alot more but these are a few of the ones I have done recently.

When Jared is home during the day the kids love to lay with him and watch TV or just cuddle. here a few pictures of them doing just this.

Starting Early

We bougth a WII with the money Grandmommie gave us for Christmas. The kids really love to play it but not more that Collin loves to think he can play. You can tell by the grin on his Face

Ethan's 3

While my Parents were here for a week he got the opporunity to celebrate ethan's third birthday. So here are a few of the pictures.

Growing up

Collin has started to want to feed himself and won't take no for answer. There are very few things he wont feed to himself. The other day he ate Mac and cheese all by himself. and now he dose it all the time. We still feed him his ceral and yogurt, and anything else that will make a huge mess and will require a bath although he enjoys that also. When he take a bath he sticks his hand under the running water and fill a cup with water to bump on his head and he lays on his tummy and blows bubbles. My other kids would never dump water on their heads or blow bubbles, and Jared says that was becuase I wouldn't dump water on their heads when they were young which is true it takes two kids to have me realize that and change.

Finally...

Ethan went to his first speech therapy today. He did great. He practiced blowing out his mouth instead of his nose. When he talks it sounds nasially, like he talkes through his nose. So we blew into wistles. the sounds we did today were ooo's and aaa's. This way he could hear the difference and he was a perfect student he did what was asked and even tried again and again to get it right. We go in tomorrow for another session. He has one very Tuesday with the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital Speech Center and on Wednesday we go to the school that is right around the corner. And hopefully before long we can start to understand him better.

Our Normal Boy

So we went to the Doctor yeasterady and found out that there was nothing to worry about. No nerve damage, and he has no gentetic defect his his palate. Not sure if they tested anywhere else but I am not going to ask. So for now we get to have alot of Speech therapy and work really hard to get him ready for school in two years.

Preschool

After waiting for about for four months, Kit will start preschool next week. She will go three times a week from 830 to 1130. She is excited and so am i this way she will make new friends and will learn how to interact with kids her own age for when school starts next year.

MRI

Ethan was a trooper today. We had the MRI this morning and it went great. he had a little disorentation when he woke up but he was back to old self after lunch. We fine out the results on March 9th at 10 am.

Ethan Update

Ethan saw the neurologist today and we didn't really find out anything new just more questions. He has a white spot on the left side of his head in the back which I found out was caused by nerve damage. Not sure what nerve was damaged, so he has to have a MRI on the 24Th at 8 am. He also had a genetics test today for his palate, the back of his mouth that lifts up when you talk, to see if its a genetic problem or if its lack of muscles. He also has to see the optometry to look behind his eyes for eye problems, because of his lack of coordination. He has a speech therapy appointment with the school district on March 26Th and then for private therapy on April 1st. So we have a lot going on and looking forward to getting some answers

Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Ethan went to see a speech therapist today and we found out why he doesn't pronounce things correctly. the speech therapist said that he has a hard time getting his tongue to do what it should. She is not sure if it is because his tongue muscles are to weak or if the brain signals are getting to his tongue. She wants us to go see a neurologist to find out if the nervous system is working correctly. She still wants us to go have a hearing test done so that will be at the end of February. so until we find out more this is what we know. You can see more about Apraxia at the website:

Here is an update, Ethan goes to see the neurologist on Monday February 9th and then the school speech therapist on March 26th. His hearing test is scheduled for February 29th.

I can usually be found at home with my kids
I am scared that my Husband might have to go to Kores in September
I need a vacation and time just for me and Jared
I am happy about my Husband doesn't have to go to Korea yet

What a coincidence

On January 1st we were coming home from Chuck E cheese and the kids didn't want to buckle up. So we told them that if they didn't Jared and I could get into trouble and the police could take us to jail. So as we were going through the entrance to the base we were chosen for a random vehicle check. and Kitrina thought that we had gotten in trouble and that we were going to jail. Which of course we weren't but she started to cry. So a few days Ago she came into my room in the morning and said she had had a bad dream and I asked what is was and she said she been put in jail. So what a strange coincidence.

Potty trained

Ethan is now offically a big boy, he has gone two days with out any accidents. We did errands yesterday and he wore underware and didn't have an accident, and then again at church no accidents. we are still wearing pull ups at night and for nap but so far they have been dry. With Kit I waited until she woke up at night and told me she had to go and that was when I new she was ready for no pull ups at night.
